Dr Ian Williams, principal clinician and owner of Camp Hill Healthcare (2015 Queensland RACGP General Practice of the Year) has been involved from the outset with ‘My Health Record’ (formally known as the PCEHR). Dr Williams is the Chairman of Stat Health Systems (Aust) and he has always been heavily involved with the functionality requirements of the software. Camp Hill Healthcare have been uploading to My Health Record since this service became active. In light of the upcoming changes to the ePIP requirements it is important that your clinician’s understand how easy it is to utilise this feature within the Stat software. When I asked Dr Williams how much longer uploading a record would add to a consultation his response was “less than 30 seconds”. The practice invested a lot of time and effort ensuring a lot of their patients were registered with My Health Record. The Practices has monthly Doctors meetings and training sessions which have helped upskill the clinicians regarding the uploading process. The Stat software automatically checks the appointment book at midnight and communicates with the Health Directory to verify the IHI of all patients with an appointment the following day. Ensuring that the patient IHI is verified before the clinician opens the Health Record ensures the process is much smoother and quicker.
